Tux Week : Sharp n Dark
Another very wearable charcoal mini houndstooth. Zeph the long haired lion up the top of the windy bell tower in Florence.
Tux Week : Back to Black
Enough with the light summery tux's. Great New York City shawl collar tux here. AKC would probably call it "dark charcoal" but in gritty black and white it's pretty much black isn't it...
Rainy Naples for "The Correspondent" // Eidos AW15
Tux Week: Texture Plus
I know it's Monday but Tux Week is still going. Throwback to the little fishing island of Ischia, off the coast of Italy, with Zeph in a super textured Eidos tux jacket. 7 different colors in this cloth. Love it.
Tux Week: Casablanca Lapels
This decomposing abandoned hotel on the island of Ischia never look so composed.
Tux Week: Fence Hopper
Most definitely one of my most memorable shoot moments EVER. The effortlessness that Zeph displayed as he ascended the rocky remains of the Baths of Caracalla (once the second largest bath house in Rome, built 212AD) in a fresh pair of Belgian Loafers was awe-inspiring to say the least.
A moderately epic setting for the first ever Eidos tux to be shot.
Tux Week
Curation is a big part of my job, so here on the blog without a specific client it's a nice exercise to curate sideways across multiple jobs. Henceforth this coming week will be Tux Week. Until I started sifting the archives I didn't realize how many great tux concepts I'd shot in the last few years, not even counting the real weddings.
Two Minute Test : Gino Iannucci
Gino Ianucci's 2min test shoot at Eidos HQ in New York before the winter '16 campaign. See the result of the full campaign here : "The Correspondent".
Also useful if you were wondering the difference between f2.8 and f11. f what? Shot on a trusty 50mm f1.2.
One Light Portraits : Christian Kimber
100% genuine, like the leather on his sneakers.
SIDE NOTE // nice to see the belted EIDOS cardigan out and about on a few people this season. So luxē. No longer reserved for slow saturday mornings inside.
One Light Portraits: Alex Restivo
Unplanned, we utilized a nice black painted wall in the back of the EIDOS showroom to punch out a few portraits and details after the show. The black comes up a rich indigo tone. Octobank firing as low as it would go, 50mm wide open (some of these hit 1.2)...
I'll share some over the next few days, starting with my friend Mr Alex Restivo.
SIDE NOTE // I've been shooting a lot of people wearing Stòffa recently and love it -- suede shoots so well, in color or black and white. Such a great texture to wear or to shoot. I also feel like suede has a bad wrap for being 'fancy'... but more and more it's becoming so much easier to dress down with brands like Eidos and Stoffa. Sure, you should care about it to a certain extent but you also need to wear it. And not care too much. It's tougher than you think.
Alex is wearing the Stòffa chocolate brown asymmetric jacket, "001" .
Eidos AW Lookbook 2016
In a mad 30min rush before the Eidos presentation yesterday, we managed to punch out the AW16 lookbook. Great to see familiar faces popping up each season. Full look book will be on www.eidosnapoli.com soon... until then, a few favorites...
